Excellent performance in an affordable price
I bought this printer several weeks ago to replace my old Lexmark InkJet printer and so far, I been loving it every single time I use it. It took me about 10 minutes to assemble the parts and about 15 minutes, everything was ready to go.The speed is reasonably fast for home-business based usage and the quality of printing (even with the Toner Save on) has been much more than I could expect from such a little mono printer. It takes about 10-15 seconds for the first print if the printer is on the 'sleep' mode, then it prints about 20-25 ppm. No auto duplex printing, but Samsung has made the manual duplex pretty standard and easy. Besides, the printer is very simple for beginner to get through the learning path - there are only two LEDs and one button on the printer. While this printer has work extremely well for me, there are several drawbacks that you might need to consider before buying it:1) The retail package does not come with a USB cable. You need to buy an additional USB1.1 'A' to 'B' cable in order to connect it to your system. You can, of course, get it quite cheap on eBay.2) The printer does generate some loud noises while printing, which can be annoying if you're used to work in a more quiet environment. It doesn't bother me much, but my family members complained once that it was a bit too noisy when I send a fairly large batch printing job at night.3) I couldn't find a software on Samsung website that would show me the ink level of the cartridge. The software that comes with the box is just a driver with a help manual in PDF. Nothing much. Although I've only been using this printer for about a month, I'm sure this can get unpleasant in the future as I can't estimate when to order a new cartridge for replacement. But overall, for a personal mono laser printer that is under $100 and possibly much less after rebate, I would certainly recommend this printer to anybody.Read full review

Samsung basically rocks. Having reviewed a number of their printers so far, I have come to expect a certain level of quality, and as of yet, they have not disappointed me. The ML-2010 is a new addition to Samsung’s growing line of laser printers, and it might just be the best value they have to offer yet.
Smaller than the ML-22[50/51N], but larger than the ML-1750, the ML-2010 is an excellent hybrid, merging the cost-effective economy of the 1750 with the more professional design of the 2250 series. For the more casual home user, the ML-2010 might actually be a more effective choice than a larger model such as the ML-2250 or the ML-2251N. With a larger model, the warm-up time is much greater, and the time until the first page comes out is extended. While this is fine in an office environment in which the printer is being used on a fairly constant basis, it’s a bit of an annoyance when the printer is seldom used, as it delays the printing of a single page by a lot. That said, for large printing jobs, the speed and recommended duty cycle of the larger models is necessary. So to a degree, the price of the printer is not the only measurement of quality; certain models, even at a lower price, may be more effective for certain users than others. The ML-2010 is a great case in point.

Generally, the actual printing performance of the ML-2010 is right up there with the ML-2251N. While it does not have even half the duty cycle or as much paper capacity, it is sort of a bare-bones version of the same thing. Stylistically, they are similar; the ML-2010 has a much more no-frills design, however. Interior compartments on the 2010 are more open-air, bringing down the overall size of the unit to something akin to a large inkjet.
The printer does not have its own network interface, and therefore it must be connected directly to a workstation via USB (1.1) or parallel port. Its memory is non-upgradeable, but 8MB is plenty for the home user, as printing is generally streamed by the host computer. The toner cartridge capacity is the same, and will last just as long as on the larger models. PostScript printing is not an upgrade option on the ML-2010.

At a resolution of 1200×600 dpi, printed raster documents (provided they are at a high enough resolution to begin with) look pretty good. This resolution is, for the most part, tough to distinguish from 1200×1200 dpi without close examination, especially on vector documents. However, slight differences are discernable on raster, grayscale documents.

At the price of around $150, this printer is targeted towards the budget-conscious home user. For most consumers, spending more than this on a laser printer would not provide much of a return on investment. But a this rather sweet price point, the consumer really wins in the end. For the home / home office with a need for a medium capacity, all-purpose laser printer, this is probably the best option available. Samsung wins again!
